Car Parking Games

Car parking games can be played by young drivers and those learning how to drive so that they can safely and efficiently park their cars in a number of different situations. This is an important skill that all drivers must learn how to do and many drivers are not very good at, as they don't know the dimensions of their automobiles or how to fit them into small parking spaces. Try using these car parking games to help perfect these skills for novice drivers before they take their automobiles out onto the road, so that they don't damage their car, other people's cars or property or risk hurting anyone.

  1. Pulling in and backing in. In an open parking lot or empty driveway, have the novice driver pull in or back in to the open parking space. Time them doing this the first time they pull in and the first time they back in. Once this has been completed, they should try to pull in and beat their time that it took them to initially pull in. Then they should try to beat their time backing in as well.
  2. Parallel Parking with Cones. Set up a couple of large road cones in an empty parking lot or empty space of asphalt. Make this space easily wide enough for a driver to fit their car between without hitting the cones. Once they have done this successfully, move the cones closer together and have them parallel park without hitting the cones. Once they have done this one successfully, space the cones just slightly longer then the car they are driving. Softly touching the cones is allowed when they are trying to parallel park in this small space, as it will simulate their car just lightly touching another car's bumper. However, if they knock one of the cones over, they will have to start again.
  3. Online games. There are a number of online car parking computer games that can instruct novice drivers how they should try to park a car. Many of these games use a keyboard or a mouse to park a video game car in a specific spot. This is primarily helpful for teaching novice drivers the process of parking in the space, but isn't the same as them actually being in their car and attempting to park correctly. They should first play these online car parking games and get good at them and then test what they have learned by physically parking a car on the road.
