Cast Of 'The Goonies': Where Are They Now?
The cast of "The Goonies": where are they now? For those of you who are wondering, below is a list of the six most popular actors and actresses from the 1985 cult classic. Many went on to star in other movies, while some decided to take their careers in another direction.
Sean Astin. Sean Astin played the role of Mikey Walsh in “The Goonies.” Astin also starred in popular films "Rudy" (1993) and the "Lord of the Rings" Trilogies. He also appeared in ten episodes of the Fox’s hit show, “24” in 2006. Currently, Astin and his wife Christine are making a movie based on the fictional novel “Number the Stars.”
Josh Brolin. Another cast member of "The Goonies,” Josh Brolin appeared in a plethora of films, including “Hollow Man,” “Into the Blue,” “No Country for Old Men,” “American Gangster,” and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.” Brolin will also star alongside Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon in “True Grit,” a new movie from the Coen brothers. Brolin will also appear in “Men in Black III,” which is supposed to be released in the spring of 2012.
Jeff Cohen. While Jeff Cohen is best remembered for appearing as Chunk in "The Goonies" as a child, he would go on to lose a lot of the weight he carried during his adolescent years. Cohen eventually attended college at the University of California, Berkeley and later went on to UCLA to study law. Eventually he co-founded Cohen & Gardner, an entertainment law firm in Beverly Hills, which is still in existence today.
Corey Feldman. It once looked like Feldman would become one of the more successful cast members of “The Goonies,” as he went on to play starring roles in popular films such as “Stand by Me,” “The Lost Boys,” “Gremlins,” and was the voice of Donatello in "Teenage Mutant Nija Turtles." He then began a battle with drugs which damaged his acting career. After dabbling in music, he appeared on reality shows and was an recurring guest on The Howard Stern Show. Feldman is now currently a vegetarian and animal rights and environmental activist, as he is a spokesperson for PETA, The Humane Society, and Greenpeace.
Martha Plimpton. After having roles in “Rollover” (1981) and “The River Rat” (1984), Plimpton enjoyed a breakout performance for her the role of Stef Steinbrenner in "The Goonies." Since then, she has appeared in several movies and television shows. Currently, she plays Virginia Chance in the popular Fox sitcom, "Raising Hope."
Kerri Green. Like Plimpton, Kerri Green’s breakout role was "The Goonies," where she played cheerleader Andrea Carmichael. In 1986, she received good reviews for her role as Maggie in "Lucas," before bombing out in the clunker “Three for the Road” (1987). Green is currently living in California with her husband and children. Other than writing an occasional screenplay and appearing on "where are they now" lists, Green remains relatively inactive in the Hollywood scene.
