When you heard the name Charlie Sheen, you used to think of the actor with the great smile, but now you think of Charlie Sheen arrested in handcuffs. There seems to be a darker side to Charlie Sheen that we did not know existed, at least we never saw it until now.

On December 25, 2009 Charlie Sheen was arrested in Colorado for a domestic violence dispute. He allegedly threatened his wife with a knife because she asked for a divorce. The person who called was said to have remained anonymous but was believed to have been his wife Brooke Mueller. The two married in May 2008 and have a set of twin boys. Sheen who is the star of TV show "Two and a Half Men" charged with two felony charges, second- degree assault and menacing as well as criminal mischief which is a misdemeanor.

Sheen denied ever threatening his wife, he stated they did have an argument and even slapped one another on the arms but that was as far as it went. He was held without bond in Pitkin County jail on Christmas day, no court date was set at that time because of the Holiday. There were no added details of the incident after the arrest. The judge later set a court date for July 21st

Nearly a week after the arrest the couple decided they wanted to reconcile. The couple asked that an amendment be made on the restraining order that was in place. Without that he would have been in violation if he tried contacting Brooke. The amendment was made on February 8th. It is not known at this moment if Brooke will still testify if or when this case goes to trial.

Charlie Sheen seems to have a history of this bad boy behavior, especially when it comes to his relationships with woman. In 1990 his then girlfriend Kelly Preston was reportedly shot, Sheen denied having anything to do with it stating that it was an accident and he was no where near the home at the time. Then there was his ex girlfriend adult film actress Brittany Ashland, they dated in 1996. Brittany accused Charlie of pushing her to the floor and busting her lip, Charlie plead no contest and was fined $2,800. The list goes on, Ex wife  Denise Richards filed for divorce in 2006 stating she had to put an end to the abuse. Charlie Sheen has a consistent track record when it comes to his abusive behavior with the woman in his life. It does not seem as if he realize how serious it is, maybe he'll make a change for the best one day soon.
