Knights of the Old Republic II is set in the cheat code friendly universe of Star Wars, which means there are a plethora of cheat codes for KOTOR 2. Since the days of the SNES cheat codes have found their way into Star Wars games and this breathtakingly long RPG is no different. Every item in the game has a numerical number assigned to it that can be given to the player by typing it into the console, but Obsidian Entertainment has also provided loads of codes that are much more fun than getting a new lightsaber...alright, that may be stretching it. Before you begin giving yourself 200 lightsabers for "safety precautions" you'll need to activate the console by editing one of KOTOR 2'S text files.

Activating the Console to Insert Cheat Codes

  1. Open the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II folder. By default the file path is "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKOTOR2".
  2. Open the file "swkotor2.ini". A text file will appear in Notepad, if you are running a Windows operating system.
  3. Scroll down to the "[Game Options]" section. A long list of game configurations will be shown.
  4. Type "EnableCheats=1" below "Disable Movies=0".
  5. Save and close the file. You can now access the console to insert cheat codes!

Typing in Cheat Codes

  1. Start a new game or open your saved game in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2.
  2. Press the tilde key (~) to open the console. Type in any cheat codes you want to use, including any items you would like to give your characters.
  3. Close the console by pressing the tilde key (~) to activate any inputed cheats.

KOTOR 2 Cheat Codes

  1. Brighten dark Sith temples. Parts of KOTOR 2 take place in some dark Sith temples, and it can make maneuvering through some of the buildings rather difficult. Type "bright" into the console to brighten some of the games darkest areas.
  2. Quickly level up your character. Type "addexp ##" while replacing the ## with a numerical value to give your character free experience. This KOTOR 2 cheat can be particularly useful for players who want to skip the side-quests without being penalized by having a character of insufficient levels.
  3. Heal all of your characters. Force heal can require too many resources for some fights, so type in "heal" to replenish the health and force points of all the characters in your party.
  4. Use items infinitely. Type "infiniteuses" to use any item in your inventory an infinite amount of times. This cheat can be useful for keeping an endless supply of comspikes or repair kits.
  5. Never die. Turn on invincibility to assure that you, not only never die, but that you are never hurt. Type "invulnerability" to activate this cheat.
