Chris Bosh Stats
These Chris Bosh stats are perfect for basketball fans who love to pick apart and discuss his numbers. Since his move from Toronto to Miami, many observers are quick to point out that Chris Bosh's numbers have taken a considerable tumble. Still, given the Heat's strong regular season run and their impressive performance in the playoffs, it is obvious that Chris Bosh is part and parcel of their success.
-
20.0 points per game. Chris Bosh was the primary scorer during his stint with Toronto. During his last season with the Raptors as the go-to guy, Bosh averaged an impressive 24.0 points a game. As a member of the Heat, he has become the third scoring option behind LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. No longer the focal point of his team's offense, he only scored an average of 18.7 points per game during the 2010-11 NBA season. It is a tad lower than what fans are used to, but it has been more than enough to help keep the Heat's title run going.
-
9.2 rebounds per game. Chris Bosh may not be an elite rebounder but he has more than enough height, heft and skill to grab his fair share of missed shots. During his final two seasons with the Toronto Raptors, his rebounding average was in the double digits. In his first year with Miami, however, the Georgia Tech product has only picked up 8.3 boards per game. After the NBA 2010-11 regular season, Chris Bosh was only ranked 20th in the league in the rebounding department. While this may be a respectable finish, it should be pointed out that less decorated players were ranked much higher than him.
-
1.1 blocks per game. He may be known as a gifted offensive player, but Chris Bosh also knows how to play good defense. Bosh has good lateral quickness which is more than enough to cover most NBA big men. Three times during his enviable career, Bosh has also managed to produce at least six clean blocks in a game. He may have had more spring in his hops during his rookie and sophomore seasons but Chris Bosh still has enough energy to swat away shots from time to time.
-
0.493 field goal percentage. Although he is known as a power forward, Chris Bosh operates more like a finesse forward. He prefers to take jump shots rather than post up his defenders. He has the brute strength to force himself past the man guarding him but he has enough ball control and athleticism to whiz past opposing players. Although it is a little outside his comfort zone, Bosh has been known to launch and make a few three-point bombs from beyond the arc. Chris Bosh also knows where and when to pick his spots. Able to drain nearly half the shots he takes, teams must watch out for this young and lanky player.
-
0.798 free throw percentage. Being the effective scorer that he is, Chris Bosh manages to nab his share of fouls. During the 2010-11 regular season, the Miami Heat forward took 471 shots from the charity stripe and made 384 of those attempts. In terms of stats, that effort earned him a healthy average of 0.815 percent this year. His free throw shot technique may be inferior when compared to some of the NBA's deadlier marksmen but as far as big men go, Chris Bosh has excellent hands.
