1. Never pressure her. If the object of your desire has not had a lot of dating experience, it might be best to ease her into the deep end of the pool. Go out with a group of friends or double date. Talk to your friends. Suggest they bring a date and go out a time or two with them. Go bowling, watch a movie or if it’s nice weather, have a boat ride or go sailing. The more comfortable she is with you at first, the more she will grow to trust that you’re not there just to jump her right off the bat.
2. Keep the drinking and cursing to a minimum. Hey, you're not a saint and neither is she, but it’s a turn-off for Christian women, as well as most non-Christian women, to hear a man cursing their head off in every sentence. She may not have a problem with it all the time, but most people in general consider undue, constant cursing tacky. As far as alcohol, if she is down with a glass of wine or two at dinner, that’s perfectly fine. However, keep your head about it.
3. Show her she is special. It sounds cheesy, but you would do this for any woman you were interested in, so pour on the charm, but try to be sincere. She’s not stupid. Just because you have Christian dating rules to contend with, doesn’t mean that she will fall for anything that drips off your well-intended, silver tongue.
4. Exhibit self-control. You’re rocking the Christian dating rules righteously, but she’s standing there looking like that tiny bathing suit was poured on her like the sweetest syrup known to mankind. You still have to keep it in check. Remember, kissing is not evil, but you are not made of stone, so don’t lose control at this point. This Christian dating rule is crucial. Consider it a test you must pass in order to move forward into tasting that sweet nectar.
