Christmas Fudge Recipe
Celebrate the joys of the holiday season by serving your guests homemade candy made from the perfect Christmas fudge recipe. This Christmas fudge is made with white chocolate and decorated in the colors of the season. Add Christmas decor to your dessert table with white chocolate Christmas fudge.
To make Christmas fudge, you will need:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup butter
- 7 oz. jar marshmallow crème
- 11 oz. package white chocolate chips
- Red and green food coloring
- Candy thermometer
- Prepare the pan. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan with butter, shorting, vegetable oil, or non stick spray to keep the Christmas fudge from sticking to the pan.
- Combine sugar, heavy crème, and butter in a medium saucepan and stir. Heat the ingredients over a medium heat stirring constantly with a rubber spatula. Alternate between scraping the sides of the pan clean and keeping anything from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Scorched milk will ruin the flavor of the fudge and you will have to start over. Heat the mixture to 235 degrees.
- Remove the Christmas fudge from the heat. Slowly mix in the marshmallow crème and the white chocolate chips and mix thoroughly. Set aside two ½ servings of the Christmas fudge mixture in separate dishes to be used for the colorful toppings. Pour the remaining Christmas fudge into the greased pan and use a rubber spatula to gently smooth the top layer of fudge.
- Add red food color to one of the ½ cup servings of Christmas fudge and mix thoroughly. Add green food color to the other ½ cup of Christmas fudge and mix thoroughly. Add drops of food color until the mixture is the color desired. Pour or spoon drops of both the red and green mixtures over the entire top layer of the Christmas fudge. Use a toothpick or the tip of a knife to swirl the colors into a colorful design. Do not over swirl or the colors will look muddy.
- Place the Christmas fudge in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Cut the Christmas fudge into 2 inch squares and arrange on a serving plate.
Tips/Warnings: Candy temperature can be easily checked without a thermometer. Fill a small glass 1/3 full of cold water. Drop a single drop of the cooking candy from a spoon into the cold water. If the drop forms a soft ball that doesn’t break apart, the temperature of the cooking candy is at 235 degrees. Very hot sugar can cause serious burns. Use extreme caution and keep pets and children away when cooking sugar.
