Knowing how to store cigars is something you might want to know if you have them lying around and keeping a cigar storage guide can be helpful. Cigars are smoked all around the world and are considered a favorite pasttime to some. Your cigars can lose freshness if not sealed and stored properly. This might be upsetting if they were expensive, flavorful cigars.

To store cigars, you will need:

  • Plastic bag
  • Box or humidor
  1. How much money did you spend on the cigars? This is the first question to ask yourself for the cigar storage guide. You want to ensure you spend the right amount on storage depending on the amount you spend on the cigars. If you spent a lot on the cigars, chances are you will want to keep them fresh with the best option for storage.
  2. Decide on a plastic bag, box or humidor to store your cigars. You will want to choose one of these options depending on the time frame you have to smoke or the amount of cigars you have to smoke. If you purchased two cigars which you will smoke within the next three days, a plastic bag will do just fine. Chances are you purchased a large assortment and want to keep them fresh for as long as possible. A humidor would be your best option.
  3. Ensure the proper temperature. You want to keep the cigars at a comfortable room temperature, such as 65 to 72 degrees. If the room is too cold or too warm, the cigars can age quickly or slowly. They may also rot if the temperature is not closely monitored.
  4. Make sure the cigar's environment is air tight. This will lock in the flavor and improves storage usage. You will want to expose the cigars to fresh air every two weeks to ensure the proper placement and aging process.
