Learn competitive diving training workouts to improve your diving skills and your overall fitness. Divers need to be in great shape and have great form. Flexibility, strength, and endurance are all important parts of diving, and training can help improve all of these areas.

What you will need:

  • Pool
  • Weight training facility
  • Time
  • Motivation
  1. Flexibility is an important part of every competitive diving training workout. You should begin every workout with a warm up and stretching. Do a lap around the pool and then stretch every part of your body. Push yourself to stretch slowly and with proper form. You should also stretch again after working out and follow up with a cool down lap. By stretching every day you will notice great increases in your flexibility and overall performance as a diver.
  2. Cardiovascular and endurance training are also important part of competitive diving training workouts. Competitive divers need to have tight muscles and bodies in order to maximize their dives. Try running and swimming long distances at a slow pace to improve your endurance. A healthy diet can also help tremendously in this area.
  3. Muscular strength training is also important for every competitive diving training workout. Your legs will need to be strong in order to propel you with maximum distance and your arms and body should be toned. Weight lifting and high intensity running and swimming can really help you improve in this area of your training.
  4. Workout daily if possible, but make sure to give your body at least one day of rest per week. All workouts require a lot of energy and effort. After several days of such work, you will need a break for your body to repair itself. By doing so, your body will improve more quickly and recover faster as well.
