Contraceptive Methods For Men
Contraceptive methods are not just for women to figure out anymore, so finding out all of the different contraceptive methods for men allow both partners to be educated. With the changes made to contraceptive being available for both women and men now, its important for a couple to discuss the options available, and which option works best for them. If one of the contraceptive methods available to men is what is decided upon, this will educate both partners on whats available and what to expect .Right now, there are four methods available for men to choose from for a contraceptive method, with more to come in time.
The first and easiest contraceptive method for men is abstinence. Since this method is not a favorite among men since it ensures the reason behind looking for a contraceptive is not allowed to be enjoyed, it's not picked often enough. For the men still left that may not know what abstinence is, it means refraining from sexual intercourse.
The second contraceptive method for men is withdrawal. This method has been around for centuries, and may be the oldest method around. The only draw back to this particular method is its reliability. In theory, the man pulls out right before he ejaculates, there for not allowing his sperm to be deposited inside the woman to fertilize the egg, causing pregnancy. The reliability has issues in this method since not all men can gauge right when they need to pull out, and there is no guarantee that no sperm was released before the pull out. This method can be used any time, with out preparation and for that reason is a favorite among men and women alike. Ensure if this is the method being used, the risks as to how unreliable it can be is understood by both partners.
The third contraceptive method for men is the condom. This method takes a sheath made for the penis made out of materials such as rubber, latex or gut. It is unrolled and slid over the outer body of the penis, and stays there during the entire time of intercourse. The reason it works is because when the man ejaculates, its captured inside the condom, there for allowing the female to not get pregnant. It is the most commonly known and used method for contraceptive among men, but not all men enjoy using them. There are cases where men complain it dulls the sensation, is uncomfortable to wear, or in extreme cases there could be an allergy either with the male or female. Other problems that can happen with the condom is breakage or the condom slipping off, which when this happens pregnancy can still occur.
The last contraceptive method available to men is having a vasectomy. This is a surgical procedure that is done right in the doctors office on an outpatient procedure. The doctor severs the vas deferens, which is the tube that delivers the sperm to the end of the penis. It only take a few weeks for the urethra to be cleared of all sperm and sex can be enjoyed again with out a second form of contraception if wanted.
