Cute Love Songs

Every decade of music has a myriad of cute love songs to choose from. In the internet age, you can listen to just about any love song with a few mouse clicks and possibly 99 cents or so. Below are some of the cutest love songs of all time.

  1. "The Girl is Mine" by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney. Michael and Paul gently scuffle over a woman in this cute love song from Michael Jackson's 1982 "Thriller" album. Both singers were declaring themselves "the only one who is special in her heart".
  2. "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry. The lead singer of "Journey" went partially solo in 1982 with his "Street Talk" album. In this cute love song, Steve tells his girlfriend, who is apparently leaving him, that their love is enduring. If Sherrie had stuck around, she would probably have been named Sherri Perry. That would be a cute background story for a love song.
  3. "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney. This former Beatle became the king of silly and cute love songs after he went solo, and he even wrote a song about it. Paul sang this cute love song without the aid of Michael Jackson. Paul declares in the song that love songs never get old.
  4. "I Love You Golden Blue" by Sonic Youth. Sonic Youth released this nonsensical but cute love song in the 2004 "Sonic Nurse" album. It has something to do with not having time or the ability to read her mind and not "feeling the thrill", but somehow loving her anyway. Maybe it will make sense if you listen to it. It sounds like a cute love song, anyway.
  5. "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett. Joan Jett wrote some interesting love songs. This 1988 release from the "Up Your Alley" album is quite a cute song, which is surprising for Joan Jett. Joan is sore about getting stood up by a guy who's messing around with other women. The bar's about to close and she's alone, but she loves him and hates herself for it.
  6. "The Rose" by Amanda McBroom. Bette Midler made this cute love song famous in 1979 when she sang it in the movie of the same name and subsequently released the song as a single. This cute karaoke favorite reassures the broken hearted that love is a "flower" instead of a "hunger" and you are its seed. Even in the winter time, the seed is still there beneath piles of snow. "The Rose" is a masterpiece and one of the cutest love songs of all time.
