There are a number of Dallas, Texas attractions for vacationers young and old. The city is a bustling, successful community with an amusement park, museums and a large nightlife. Whether traveling with your family or heading down with some of your buddies, there is something for just about everyone in the town and its wide spread suburbs.

  1. Sixth Floor Museum (411 Elm Street, Dallas, TX  75202) – The Sixth Floor Museum is a popular Dallas, Texas attraction, celebrating the life of former President John F. Kennedy. Located in the old Book Depository that Lee Harvey Oswald hid in on the fateful day that Kennedy was shot, the museum offers a large look at photographs and memorabilia tracing the life of Kennedy as well as an audio guide offered through headphones.
  2. Dallas Zoo (650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway (I-35E), Dallas, TX 75203) – The Dallas Zoo is a great attraction for families and kids to visit to see just about every animal imaginable in their natural habitats. The zoo features 106 acres of wildlife with everything from gorillas and giraffes to penguins and bird habitats as well as a large children’s petting zoo by the entry plaza. The zoo is open daily with the exception of Christmas Day.
  3. Six Flags over Texas (2201 Road to Six Flags, Arlington, TX 76010 ) – This giant amusement park is one of the most popular Dallas, Texas attractions, offering kids and thrill seekers alike a number of rides and attractions. The Texas Giant is the largest wooden roller coaster in the world as the Superman Tower of Power, which drops you from 32 1/2 stories. With Warner Bros cartoon characters and DC Comics superheroes roaming the park, there is plenty to see and do for everybody.
  4. Dallas Athletic Events – Dallas, Texas attractions wouldn’t be complete without a look at the areas sporting events and teams. From the multi-time Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys to the 2011 NBA World Champion Dallas Mavericks as well as the Texas Rangers, who made it to their first World Series in 2010, there is fun to be had year round for sports fans in the area. The stadiums for the Cowboys and Rangers are side-by-side while the Mavericks and NHL Dallas Stars play closer to downtown Dallas.
  5. Deep Ellum – For those loving the nightlife, there is West End, with its numerous restaurants and bars, but for those wanting a unique and alternative party destination, there is not a better Dallas, Texas attraction than the Deep Elum district. Deep Elum offers 170 acres of bars, restaurants, tattoo parlors and concert halls. No matter your taste in music or food there is something in Deep Ellum for you.
