Dermatology Questions

Learn why it is not that unusual for guys to have dermatology questions about the skin on their face and other parts of their body. Guys typically feel like dermatology questions are more of a subject women ask about, but this is not necessarily true. Both men and women have problems with their skin that they need help learning more about. You'll look into some of those concerns here.

  1. Men and acne You'd have thought this problem would go away once you got out of your teens. Not always the case. Some guys continue with acne into adulthood. It's not fun and it's rather annoying. The question becomes what to do to get rid of the acne. Your dermatologist can prescribe an acne- fighting medication that may work. Otherwise, you can try salicylic acid which dries out the acne. Or try natural ingredients and see how your skin responds to it.
  2. Moles A lot of men get moles on areas of their body like the neck, armpit, legs, and so on. If you see a dermatologist for this, it's because you decided to take it to a dermatologist instead of your doctor. Getting rid of moles involves having it frozen off. It's not too comfortable, but it works.
  3. Blackheads, skin rashes Men wonder how to take care of these skin conditions too. There are over the counter skin medications you can try and natural ways to deal with these. Your dermatologist will mostly just prescribe medicine or freezing off a blackhead. The rash, though, is different. It depends what caused the rash. Also, the dermatologist will make sure the blackheads and moles don't have an unusual shaped or color to them. They'll ask you if the size or color has change since you've had it.
