Dr Oz Diet Plan
The Dr. Oz diet plan is explained in detail here. Dr Oz, known mainly as Oprah’s doctor, now has his own TV show. He has many diet plans from the “Dr. Oz Ultimate Diet” to the “10 Years Younger in 60 Days Diet.” Although there was some controversy about Dr. Oz recently with his association with pharmaceutical companies, his knowledge and his diets are followed by thousands. Dr. Oz’s partner is Dr. Michael F. Roizen and although the diets and books are mainly called the Dr Oz diet plans, Dr. Michael Roizen is always named as the top author on the books and information.
The “Ultimate Diet” contains many steps and it has more to do with lifestyle than it does with the diet itself. Dr Oz was the one of the first to mention the word omentum to the public. Omentum is the fat organ connected to the stomach and as you get fatter, so does the omentum. The only purpose of this organ is to store fat. From this one picture alone, millions of viewers now wanted to lose belly fat.
The new revelation in the Dr. Oz diet wasn’t how fat you were, but how big was your waist. Dr. Oz says the first part of his diet is to measure your waist and to store away the scale. First see how tall you are and then divide that figure in half. That figure is what your waist should be. Anyone with a waist size over 40 is the same thing as a person with cancer. He further states that you can live 25% longer by reducing your calories.
One of the best ways to start the Dr. Oz diet is to get rid of everything in your home that is an offender. This includes: sugar, saturated fats (anything from a four-legged animal, coconut oil or palm oil), hydrogenated fat (trans fat), primary omega 6-fat (corn, soybean oils), white flour or enriched white flour.
Exercise daily. Walk at least 30 minutes a day. He also suggests buying a pedometer. The other things he suggest you need is a blood pressure monitor, tape measure, heart rate monitor, a hand grip device, a good pair of walking shoes and a notebook. Chart your success daily. Be proud of who you are and what you are doing. Set goals and tell someone what you are doing.
Now it is important to visit a doctor and have your blood levels checked. Some will be amazed about how high their LDL levels are or even their triglycerides. After being on his diet for a few weeks, these levels should decrease.
Find out if you are happy? Learn to see if you are really enjoying life to its fullest. By understanding why you gained the weight in the first place, you may learn how to keep the weight off permanently. Ask yourself:
- Are you happy most of the time?
- Are you happier than you were 5 years ago?
- What are your hopes?
- Is life passing too fast?
- What percentage of the day are you happy?
The other things Dr. Oz suggests from his “You Staying Young” book (the owner’s manual for extending your warranty) is to shop for healthy foods, vitamins and supplements, such as Vitamin D, calcium and magnesium. He further suggest you to detoxify your home and your body with natural products, to install water filters, to do Chi-gong workouts and lastly to deal with your addictions. Your addictions may include smoking, drinking or overeating.
The final things you should do and change is your way of eating. Reduce your plate size to 9 inches. Most traditional plates are 12 inches. He also suggests having a few basic meals and eating them regularly. By not having a multitude of food choices, you will have to shop less and not have extra foods in your frig. It is proven that people with preplanned meals lose more weight.
