Droid Incredible Vs Iphone

In the battle of the HTC Droid Incredible vs iPhone 4, many of each phone’s specifications seem evenly matched. This, of course, should come as no surprise. They’re both the latest and greatest in modern handset technology. But aside from the obvious difference in operating systems, there are in fact a few key separators–some of them pretty important, others inconsequential–when comparing the Droid Incredible vs. the iPhone 4. Read on to find out exactly what those separators are.

Screens and Controls. In terms of screen resolution, the Droid Incredible vs. the iPhone 4 is no contest. The Droid has a 3.7 inch screen with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. This seems pretty impressive – until you consider the iPhone 4’s screen, which is 3.5 inches and has a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels. The controls on each phone (aside from side-panel volume controls the top panel power button) are also slightly different. Apple has kept their signature “home button” as the only non-touch screen button on the iPhone. The Droid Incredible, meanwhile, includes “Home,” “Search,” “Menu” and “Back” as hardware buttons on the phone itself. For those who like having these controls always within a single touch, the Droid Incredible is clearly superior.

Cameras and memory. For some, one of the deal-breaker differences in comparing the Droid Incredible vs. the iPhone 4 is the camera. With the huge advancement in camera technology over the past few years, smartphones have become legitimate replacements for full-featured digital cameras. And, in this section of the Droid Incredible vs. iPhone 4 face-off, the Droid claims the win. Its camera is a whopping eight megapixels, while the iPhone’s is a comparatively measley five. Onboard memory, though, is a different story. Apple customers have two options when buying an iPhone 4. They can get a version with sixteen gigabytes of memory, or one with 32 gigabytes of memory included. Droid Incredible customers are unfortunately relegated to one choice, which is eight gigabytes of internal memory. The Droid’s redeeming quality in this particular category is that it has a microSD slot, which can be used to expand the phone’s internal memory up to 32 gigabytes with the addition of a microSD card.

Software. This essential facet of the Droid Incredible vs. iPhone 4 comparison can’t really be quantified. Unfortunately, there aren’t any objective benchmarks from which to judge the Droid’s Google Android operating system to the iPhone’s iOS. What can be said definitively is that the iPhone 4’s app store is a bit bigger. Android’s operating system, on the other hand, is considered more open and customizable by most users. It is worth noting that, whichever phone you choose, the vast majority of customers are satisfied by their own handset’s operating system.
