Essentail Snorkeling Equipment
When going snorkeling, there is going to be some essential snorkeling equipment that is a must in order to be safe. All this equipment is necessary and cannot be left out when doing this activity. The article below gives information about the essential snorkeling equipment you need to keep you safe when under the water.
- Snorkeling mask. The mask is one of the most essential snorkeling equipment because it helps you see under water. The mask should fit your face snugly- not too tight, but not too loose. There are two types of masks - rubber and silicone. Silicone may be more expensive but it also let's more light through and is more comfortable. Whatever type you choose, as long as you have a mask, you're good to go.
- Fins. The fins are a must-have when going snorkeling. When buying the fins, make sure to look for the right fit, stiffness and design for you. Just like the mask, the fins should fit snugly enough. Make sure that it is not too tight or else you'll put unneeded strain on your leg muscles. There are many different types of fins. The most common ones are the split-fins due to the fact that they make your kick 40% better than the others. When choosing, make sure you get the ones that feel right to you.
- Snorkel. The snorkel is used for drawing out fresh air while you are underwater. The most important thing to keep in mind when shopping for a snorkel is the size and material it is made out of. Too big of a barrel will make it complicated to draw fresh air, and not having the right material suited for you could result in you taking in salt water if your snorkel falls a little below it the water.
- Snorkeling vest. The snorkeling vest is the most essential snorkeling gear for your safety. The vest consists of a bladder (for air), a waistband, and a mouth piece for inflating the vest. The life vest not only provides safety, but it also makes it easier for you to stay afloat.
