Essential Gothic Clothing For Men

There are a few trademark items in the Gothic wardrobe that will complete any look, so let’s take a look at these essential Gothic clothing items for men. The Gothic subculture has a very strong and identifiable fashion. Its feel is dark, edgy, mysterious, and above all very expressive.

  1.  The first is most certainly the jacket. Without this outfit tying staple, you could be confused for a punk or other similar subculture. The Gothic jacket for men is usually black, long sleeved, and has either silver buckles or zippers. A higher neck-hiding collar is also a common theme. The jacket shows a very reserved nature with its long sleeves, and makes for an intimidating look.
  2. Sure the jacket is important, but so is what’s under it. So let’s talk about shirts. Gothic men’s shirts are versatile items, often being confused as parts of other fashions because of their simplicity. The colors black, red, and blue are commonly used as well as skull motifs. If you’re pairing a shirt with a jacket try to make it a simple one – you don’t want your buckles getting tangled.
  3. But what pants go with that shirt? Men’s Gothic pants are also a topic of much confusion. You go for anything from extremely baggy black cargo pants, to the tightest possible dark colored skinny jeans. Really anything goes as long as you don’t wear khaki slacks!
  4. How many times have you heard that accessorizing is important? Probably too many, but in this case it is very true. Sure your soon-to-be Gothic outfit looks cool now, but imagine what it would be like with a stomping pair of combat boots, a leather choker, and a chain to hold wallet? With these essential Gothic accessories you can pull your outfit into a force to be reckoned with.
