Gymnastics typically involve the performance of different maneuvering movements of the body and proper body conditioning. Thus, you will need to perform gymnastics drills on some gymnastics training equipment to carry out regular gymnastics practice and training routines.
- Mats. The mats provide cushion to avoid injuries during falls among gymnasts. As somersaults and flips are performed the mat provides a padded surface to land on. In gymnastics competition, the floor uses foam matting and carpet as top layer but also uses additional padding with mats to ensure safety. If you intend to practice gymnastics at home, there are mats made of foams that can be folded for easy storage.
- Beams. Balance is an essential skill in gymnastics. Gymnasts use beams to perfect their balance skills. They are manufactured in varying degrees of padded surface. - Trampoline. Gymnasts use trampoline to master their skill in doing gymnastic flips. You can find trampolines in different sizes and shapes. Trampolines come in their mini-version called trampette, but it is not ideal gymnastics training equipment to do some flip practice on. It is only good for exercising the legs to build muscle and tone.
- High bars or parallel bars. These are training bars that are mainstay gymnastics training equipment usually made from wood or fiberglass. Most of these bars are adjustable in height according to the gymnast’s ability to perform some gymnastics maneuvers.
