Facebook Chat Tricks

Being cool means you've got the monumental task  to impress your friends as regularly as possible, so what's a better way to impress them than with some cool Facebook chat tricks. Most Facebook users are completely unaware of these tricks and will be beyond impressed when you blew their Facebook chatting minds.

1. Use some emoticons. Most people are familiar with the basic Facebook chat emoticons, such as the happy or sad face, but they have no idea there are well of the other 20 emoticons available in Facebook chat. The full list of emoticons includes Pac-Man ( :V ), a weird face ( :putnam: ), or even a shark (^^^). This Facebook chat trick is simple and can make you seem very tech-savvy!
2. Highlight what you are trying to say. Tired of using caps to insinuate something on Facebook chat? Use the bold and underscore tricks to get your point across. Type "(_)" at the beginning and end of your word choice to underline everything between the two markers. Put asterisks around whatever words you want to be bolded.
3. Turn your Facebook chat upside-down. Programs like FlipText allows you to turn your Facebook chat upside down. This isn't a particularly useful trick, but it can be a good gag on some of your friends.
4. Chat from your desktop. There are numerous clients that let you use Facebook chat from your desktop. Not only is this a neat trick, but it spares your computer some memory so it can actually run faster!
