Facebook Problems

Experiencing Facebook problems? So is the rest of the world. Facebook glitches all the time in one way or the other, which isn’t surprising for such a massive website with so many members. But nonetheless, it’s frustrating to not be able to tell your friends what flavor Hot Pocket you’re eating for dinner.

  1. Email address updates: Facebook might email you once, twice or ten times asking you to update your email address. This Facebook problem is especially common with those not using free accounts like Gmail. If you’re getting these, switch to a different (and free) email account.
  2. Group name change notifications: You don’t need to know how many times your sister changes the name of her work group. But Facebook thinks you do. Don’t be surprised if you get multiple reminders of a group name change after one goes through.

  3. Facebook outage: Oh no! Facebook is down! This Facebook problem is common, especially when they’re overloaded. The last time it happened big time, it was due to some kind of database problem. You can’t fix it, so don’t fret over it. Just wait until the geeks with glasses figure out what went wrong.

  4. You can’t favorite a link: This is an easy Facebook problem to fix. You’re probably in fan page admin mode. Switch back to your profile and all will be well again.

  5. Facebook virus: Remember when the Confiker virus attacked multiple Facebook user profiles? Nasty stuff. Thankfully that’s over, but don’t bet on something similar never happening again. Always run an antivirus whenever you’re on Facebook.

  6. You can’t message someone: If you can’t message a person, you’re probably not their friend. Send them a friend request, hope they accept it, then message them again.

  7. Facebook privacy problems: Let’s not even poke Mama Bear on this one. If you’re on Facebook, just assume you’ll forget to change a security setting somewhere along the line. If your boss sees pictures you posted of you cavorting on bar tables last weekend, don’t blame Facebook – you’ve been warned.

  8. Facebook down: Sometimes Facebook goes through a temporary down-and-out that doesn’t amount to a complete outage. Just wait an hour, then come back.

  9. Facebook chat problems: Chatting brings up a lot of glitches on Facebook. Number one, make sure you’re the person’s friend. Number two, actually select the friend you want to chat with; don’t just start randomly typing, or your text will go nowhere fast.

  10. Facebook login problems: Facebook login problems abound in many respects, including not having the right username, your account being hacked or your password getting forgotten. Try changing the password after clicking the “Forgot password” link and see if you can sign in with the new one.
