Fashion blogs and the bloggers behind them have become respected additions to the fashion industry. Some blogs have even been able to generate strong advertising revenue while certain bloggers have become celebrities and published authors. A blog’s popularity is often ranked on Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds, unique views per months, number of subscribers and cross-posting on social networking sites.

  1. The Sartorialist This is perhaps the most famous and respected fashion blog of them all. It is a blog by a New Yorker named Scott Schuman as a way to share photos of random fashion forward people in New York that he captured with his camera. Schuman has a background working in the fashion industry and is a regular contributor to "GQ" magazine and Style.com

  2. Style Bubble Susan Lau’s StyleBubble.TypePad.com fashion blog began as an online journal in March 2006. The blog has an estimated 300,000 new users each month. Lau has a degree in history from a London college before making a transition into digital media. Her blog is a revenue stream for Lau as it generates around $20 per 1,000 page views.

  3. Bryan Boy Born Bryan Grey-Yambao, this Filipino boy has been making waves in the fashion industry with his blog. Proof of his position is getting front row seating at the Dolce and Gabbana show in Milan and at the New York Fashion Week tent. His blog is known for its witty and feisty comments. In 2007, Bryan won an award in the Philippines for “Best Fashion and Lifestyle Blog.”

  4. Top Stylista TopStylista.com is the fashion blog of Chantelle Znideric. In 2007, she slowly integrated consultancy into her blog and made it into a business. She currently offers image and styling advice to clients into her other website, Personal-Stylist.co.uk.

  5. Go Fug Yourself Its tagline is “Go Fug Yourself: Because Fugly is the New Pretty.” This blog lives true to its mission to make fun of fashion and gossip about it along the way. Jessica Morgan and Heather Cocks, otherwise known as the Fug Girls, run this blog.

  6. The Budget Fashionista The woman behind this site is Kathryn Finney. She started the blog in 2003 that, to her surprise, took off. She is the first fashion blogger to receive a book deal with the publication of “How to Be a Budget Fashionista-The Ultimate Guide to Looking Fabulous For Less.” Kathryn is a regular contributor to "Real Simple" magazine, "Lucky" and AOL Shopping.

  7. Threadbanger It calls itself as a do-it-yourself blog for fashionistas. The site features “how to” videos on anything and everything related to fashion, including quirky skirts and home decorations. Threadbanger currently runs web video episodes called webisodes with its three main hosts, Rob, Corinne and Meg.

  8. Hypebeast This fashion blog offers multiple updates daily on things related to fashion and culture. It is a very well organized blog with an editorial staff and different sections that include style, art, lifestyle, music, design and culture. It has at least 19 million page views every month and runs video episodes on its site.

  9. Street Peeper This blog was started by a New York University student named Phil. Calling himself Mr. Street Peeper, Phil began the blog in 2006 to cover fashion on the streets of New York after several failed attempts in a professional career. The blog has now evolved to include street peeping all over the world, including Amsterdam, Paris and London.
