Ferrari P45 Vs. Bugatti Veyron: Who Wins?

When we pit two of the most powerful automobiles today against each other, the Ferrari P45 vs. Bugatti Veyron: who wins? The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina are two of the world's fastest cars, but if the two of them went head on, who would come out victorious? Racing videos between the P4/5 and the famed Veyron 16.4 are still nonexistent, yet it is really no surprise to people that the Bugatti mean machine outperforms just about every Ferrari model made. However, does the P4/5 reverse the trend and give the 6-figure vehicle some chance against the 7-figure performance legend?

Let's get facts down first: the Veyron is the fastest accelerating production car in the world, bar none. According to its verified time, the Bugatti accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in an amazing 2.4 seconds, with over 1,000 horsepower behind its quad-turbocharged 8.0 Liter "W 16" engine. The Bugatti Veyron is also the second fastest (production) car in the world, zooming up to 253.8 mph. It once held this title, but has since been overtaken by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT (which propels itself to an astounding 256 mph), although the Bugatti accelerates faster.

The Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina, on the other hand, is a redesigned Ferrari Enzo, with better dynamics, performance, and technology. Only one of this famed "forward-thinking" automobile was made (in 2006) by James Glickenhaus and Pininfarina. Glickenhaus is an automotive magnate who specializes in collecting Ferraris while Pininfarina is an Italian company that specializes in designing unique cars. After his retirement from the film industry as a director, James Glickenhaus was approached by the Pininfarina corporation and asked if he wanted to make a unique one-off car. What resulted was a much-covered vehicle called the "P4/5", which could accelerate to 100 km/h in 3 seconds (.5 seconds faster than the Enzo). The P4/5 boasts 660 horsepower, a 6.0 liter "V 12", a top speed of 233 mph, and a smaller drag coefficient than the Enzo.

When we look at the statistics and specifications it becomes quite clear that, in a race, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 would utterly smash the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina in any sort of race (granted both drivers are professional and can drive the machines properly). The Veyron can not only reach 100 km/h 0.6 seconds faster than the P/45, but can push its top speed over 24 mph faster. Although the famed Ferrari powers an astounding 660 horsepower that could make any Dodge Viper shake in its boots, the Bugatti's 1,000+ horsepower stomps the competition. While it would be nice to see a clean fair fight, and it is totally possible, it is hard to take the P4/5 by Pininfarina's side when we can't support it with the stats! Granted, the driver of the Veyron could slip-up, but we wouldn't bet on it.
