You want to become a better wrestler, so here are some freestyle wrestling moves you can incorporate in your next training. Whether you are a beginner or at advanced level, you can never know too many moves under your sleeve. Sharpen your skills with these awesome moves below.

  1. Double leg takedown. Like the single leg, this is one of the basic moves to wrestling that can be used by both beginning and advanced level wrestlers. This move is performed in standing position when the wrestler bends his knees, grab on to his opponents legs and drives forward.
  2. Bear hug. Show your opponent how strong you are with this freestyle wrestling move. This is performed exactly how it sounds; you hug your opponent as tight as you can and drive forward until he falls to his back. Use this move especially when your opponent squares up in a single.
  3. Gator Roll. Score a few points with this classic freestyle wrestling move, where you force your opponent in a headlock position and roll him over. This move is performed when you have inside control in standing position or on your knees. You must first grab your opponents upper right arm using your right arm, pull him downward, duck under his arm, and roll him over.
  4. Single to hip toss. Surprise your opponent with this brilliant three point throw. This technique is performed when your opponent sprawls a single leg take down. You will need to keep hold of his back with one arm, take a back step inside, pop your hip up, and throw him over your hips.
