Fruity Spritzer Recipes
Having a fruity spritzer recipe on hand is a good idea if you want to mix up a quick, tasty drink to serve at a party or to quench the thirst of a few select guests.
A fruity spritzer is a drink made up of an alcoholic beverage (usually wine), a carbonated beverage, and fruit juice (or fresh fruit). Leaving out the wine will give you a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage with less sugar than many off-the-shelf sodas and juices.
To make a fruity spritzer, you will need:
- White or blush wine, such as White Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, or Pinot Grigio
- A carbonated beverage, such as a light-flavored soda (7-Up, Sprite, or ginger ale), soda water, or seltzer
- Ice
- Fruit juice, such as cranberry, blueberry, pomegranate, or apple
- Fresh berries (optional)
- Fruit slices for garnishing (optional)
- Pitcher or cocktail shaker
- Glasses for serving
Basic Fruity Spritzer Recipe
- 1 part wine
- 2 parts carbonated beverage
- 2 parts fruit juice
- Ice
Stir ingredients in a glass or pitcher. Adjust the proportions to taste. Garnish glasses with a fruit slice, if desired.
Fruity Spritzer with Fresh Fruit Recipe
- Fresh berries
- Sugar
- 1 part wine
- 1 part carbonated beverage
- 2 parts fruit juice
- Ice
Crush (muddle) fresh berries in a cup with a little sugar. Add to a cocktail shaker, along with the wine, carbonated beverage, fruit juice, and ice. Shake and pour into glasses. Garnish glasses as desired with fruit slices and/or a sugared rim.
Non-Alcoholic Fruity Spritzer Recipe
- 1 part carbonated beverage
- 2 parts 100% fruit juice
- Ice
Stir ingredients in a glass or pitcher. Adjust the proportions to taste. Garnish glasses with a fruit slice, if desired.
Tip: Experiment with different types of wines in your fruity spritzer. A spritzer made with a dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, will taste much different than one made with a dessert or fruit wine. In addition, different wines complement different types of fruit juice.
