Hundreds, if not thousands, of people are starting to ask about the Full Sail University scam. What? Yes, you heard correctly. This legitimate university, offering dozens of technology based degrees, has been labeled as a scam / diploma mill. Chances are you discoved this article after Googleing "Full Sail University" or adding "scam" to the same search query. Well, don't be too disappointed but Full Sail University is not a scam.
In fact, Full Sail University was founded in 1979 and is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Wow that's a mouthful. This institution of higher learning offers 33 programs, ranging from computer animation to game art and music business to name a few. The 12,000+ student body take courses at their Winter Park, Florida, campus, while taking advantage of their new online programs which kicked off in 2007.
Why do so many people see Full Sail University as a scam? Considering its rich background and plethora of opportunities, you would think this would be enough to satisfy the naysayers. Apparently not. Type in "Full Sail University" into a search engine and you'll automatically see extensions for "scam" and "pranks." In the age of the internet and blogs, this isn't surprising.
If you haven't lived under a rock the past several months, its easy to see how myths (birth certificate, anyone?) can make their way around the net. Most of the posts and comments written about a Full Sail University scam are from disgruntled and poor-performing students. This behavior is typical. Notice, you don't see scam after typing in "University of Oregon." Of course, not every dropout is going to label their school as a scam. Yet, non-traditional universities face a stronger degree of scrutiny in the court of public opinion. Respected online schools like University of Phoenix and Devry University have also had their share of skeptics. Is this fair? You be the judge.
Despite the unfair judgment and labels, Full Sail University lives on as a strong (and accredited) institution. If you're one of the unconvinced who came here today to discover the truth, rest assured, the truth will set you free. Enrolling at Full Sail University might set you back a solid $50,000, but that's a different story. Don't settle for "hearsay" when it comes to deciding on a university. Especially if its been labeled as a scam. A little research goes a long way.
