Part of getting a Master Diver Scuba Certification involves hard work and a very strong desire to succeed. However, you also need to have technical skills, along with a wide range of scuba diving experience. Once you obtain these skills, getting a Master Diver Scuba Certification will not seem like such a daunting and overwhelming task to complete.

Required to complete this task:

  • Scuba diving gear
  • Scuba diving prerequisite certifications
  1. Start scuba diving at a young age. The younger you are when you begin scuba diving, the easier it will be to get a Master Diver Scuba Certification. Organizations that offer this certification, such as the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, or PADI, require 12 years of experience.
  2. Receive an Open Water Diver certification. This can be received through organizations like PADI, as well, as can all of the other certifications mentioned. This is the lowest scuba diving certification, but it is a prerequisite to getting your Master Diver Scuba Certification.
  3. Work to get an Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Again, you can receive this through PADI or a similar organization. This certification basically indicates that you have moved beyond a beginner’s level in scuba diving.
  4. Get some training and certification as a rescue diver. This is necessary when getting a Master Diver Scuba Certification because in the open water, you could be responsible for the safety and well being of other divers, including brand new divers. You need to be able to handle emergency situations.
  5. Complete the requirements for Master Diver Scuba Certification. Through organizations like PADI, this includes a minimum of 50 professional dives. These dives must be logged with your course instructor. You also need to take specialty diving courses to learn all you need to know to get the Master Diver Scuba Certification. Each organization offers slightly different courses so check carefully to make sure you choose the right ones.
