Get Pretty Good At Drinking Beer

Most of us men, when we come of age, want to get good at drinking beer.  In fact, all men right down through the ages have been wanting to have drinking prowess with this alcoholic  concoction ever since it was invented by the early Egyptians and Sumerians. Somehow, there is a great international acceptance that real men can drink more than "girly men". And who wants to be a "girly man"? Definitely you do not want to be seen as a beer wimp especially when Oktoberfest comes around, particularly if you are in the Bavarian regions of Germany to say the least. To get really good at drinking beer, there are a few steps that you need to take and a few principles you need to imbibe as well.

  1. Its all about endurance. Being a good beer drinker means that you can outlast your drinking rival or rivals once the beer makes its rounds. One way to increase your endurance to alcohol is to get plenty of rest and sleep before the drinking sessions. Have plenty to eat as well, particularly starchy foods, as this will help absorb most of the alcochol once it enters your body.
  2. Know your limits. Definitely if we cannot drinking as much as a guy that is three to five times our size, our body will absorb the alchocol much faster than a bigger person. The key is to drink smart and do not go head to head with somebody you know will not get easily tipsy as you. Knowing your beer limit is also good so that you can stretch this out until the end of any drinking session. If it takes you ten beers to start getting buzzed then spread out the ten beers across the evening and fill in the extra time in between bttles with friendly banter or jokes to distract your drinking opponents.
  3. Build up tolerance. Your body will develop tolerance to beer over time, meaning it will take you longer to get drunk as the body gets used to regular alcohol intake. To build up your tolerance, you can replace beer with water in your daily schedule (much as what most Europeans do, since water is more expensive in some parts of Europe), or put in an extra nightcap of red wine or hard liquor before you go to sleep. Over time your body will build a natural tolerance to alcohol. However, you shuld be aware of the risks of excessive alcohol intake.
  4. Set your own standards. So maybe according to your friends you are not such a great beer drinker after all, but if you feel like you are a great  beer drinker then kudos to you! Sometimes it is the feeling and ideas of self-assurance that can help produce that extra boost to make you into a really good beer drinker!
