However, many men have symptoms that appear two to five days after becoming infected; but symptoms can take up to 30 days to appear. Symptoms in men include a burning sensation during urination. Another symptom is a white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis. Some men experience painful or swollen testicles. Signs of a rectal infection include discharge, anal itching, soreness, bleeding, and painful bowel movements. Its important to know that rectal infections may have no symptoms at all. If a male is infected with gonorrhea in the throat, he may experience a sore throat. But an infection in the throat often causes no symptoms as well.
