Google Language Tools
Google Language Tools is making the world a lot smaller by making it easier to browse foreign language websites on the internet. Google Translate and Google Language Tools enable you to browse websites in the language of your choice with a search query in your own language. They also provide translations of text that you enter into a search box as long as you know the language of the text.
Lets say that you want to learn about yoga classes in Mexico. You'll find a lot more relevant results if you use Google Language Tools to search websites that are written in Spanish. At the Google Language Tools website, type in "yoga mexico," select the choice for "specific languages," choose Spanish and hit the "translate and search" button. You'll find studios and organizations that offer yoga classes and retreats in Mexico. Some sources of yoga classes in Mexico do not bother to market to English speaking countries. Google Language Tools is a great way to find these sources. You can also use language tools to search for information in different different languages if you so desire.
Direct text translation is another feature of Google Language Tools. Copy and paste some foreign language text into the appropriate box. Make sure that you choose the correct language of the selected text below the box. After you click the translate button, Google Language Tools will redirect you to a new page with a translation of the text into your chosen language. You'll also see a link for viewing alternative translations in case you're not satisfied.
If you have a URL of a landing page you want translated, you can type or paste it into the URL field under "translate a webpage." Google Language Tools will translate your desired page into the language of your choice.
Google's homepage and interface usually appears in the language of your IP address. You can change the Google website to one that shows the language and country of your choice using Google Language Tools. For example, if you're form Rwanda and want your default Google website to be Google.rw, then you can do so at Google.com/language_tools.
