Grasshopper Drink

A grasshopper drink has a sweet mint flavor that is usually enjoyed after dinner. The mint flavor in a grasshopper drink comes from the Crème de Menthe. Crème de Cacao and fresh cream gives a Grasshopper a delectable frothy smoothness. There are several variations of the original gasshopper drink to enjoy. One variation includes the addition of ice cream to make a grasshopper milkshake.

To make an original grasshopper drink, you will need:

  • ¾ ounce green Crème de Menthe
  • ¾ ounce White Crème de Cacao
  • ¾ ounces light Cream
  1. Chill a martini glass. Rinse a martini glass with water and place in the freezer wet for 30 to 60 minutes.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Fill the cocktail with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

Coffee Grasshopper

  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Tips and Warnings:

  • A fun way to garnish a Grasshopper milkshake is by breaking up a cream filled chocolate sandwich cooker and sprinkling the pieces over the top of the milkshake.
  • Never over shake the ingredients. When shaking a cocktail shaker filled with ingredients and ice, the longer you shake the more the ingredients are diluted by melting ice.
