Grief quotes are looked at typically when someone has lost someone or something dear to them. Going through a grievous situation can feel like drowning in sorrow. However, some of these quotes can be like a life jacket waiting to rescue someone.

  1. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal." - Headstone in Ireland. So often when someone dies their loved ones feel an empty space inside of their hearts. Its heartbreaking to lose someone you love, however you still have the gift of memory. When someone has left the world, they can still live on through the memories that their loved ones share about them. These memories can make grief seemingly bearable.
  2. "Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers the o'er-fraught heart and bids it break." - William Shakespeare. Shakespeare always had a great way of putting things. With this quote about grief, he suggests writing down your feelings. As a writer himself, he understands the power of raw emotion and its effects on the creative process. Keeping grief inside can take its toll on the soul. Expressing your grief can give it light and help with the grieving process.
  3. "Sorry makes us all children again - destroys all differences of intellect. The wisest know nothing." -Ralph Waldo Emerson. Grief can be considered the great equalizer. Everyone experiences grief at some point in their life. Its a common ground to build from that many can use to get to know someone better. If ever you're intimidated by another person, its easy to forget their emotions and their grief that they've experienced. However, just like you, they've had heartache, grief, and pain.
