Guide To Surviving A Break Up

Do you need a guide to surviving a break up? Breaking up with someone you still love isn't the best feeling in the world. It can be downright depressing. Losing the person you've come to care about could make you feel lost and confused. You may mope around or lose interest in the things that made you feel good. You may also feel like giving up on love. But before you throw in the towel and write off relationships, take a look at this guide. You can survive a break up if you try.

  1. Become Active Again. Getting over your ex isn't going to happen overnight. There will be something or someone who reminds you of her. You can't avoid this problem by hiding in your home all day, but you can learn to accept it. Clear your mind by becoming active in socializing or meeting new friends. Go out and do something you like to do, not something you did as a couple. Once you learn to be independent again, you will survive breaking up.
  2. Find a Hobby. As corny as it may seem, finding a hobby is great for surviving a break up. Some people love building things. Others enjoy recreational sports. You decide what makes you happy and go for it. Try doing several things and narrow it down to something that interest you the most.
  3. Get Support from Family and Friends. Your family and friends are your biggest supporters. They can help you get back to feeling good about yourself. Spending time with the people in your life is great therapy. Your parents may have been through many break ups and can help you work out what you're feeling. Don't feel uncomfortable about talking to your mom or dad. They would rather see you happy instead of sad. Your friends could be just what you need to get over a split. If you have a best friend, talk to him or her. Let them guide you through the hard times. Most friends have known each other for a long time. They know when to talk and when to back off.  When you feel like discussing your personal problem, they'll be there to support you.
  4. Cry it Out or Vent. If you need to cry or vent your anger, then do so. The worse thing a person can do is hold in emotions. It doesn't make you less of a man to cry when you need to. It actually makes you more of a person because you're not afraid to feel this type of emotion. Break ups can make you experience all types of emotions. Anger is on the top of the list, followed by pain. Vent your anger by punching a pillow or working out hard. But never take out your pain on someone else.

Surviving a break up or any other relationship problem can happen. All you need is a positive reinforcement and mind. You will meet and fall in love with someone else. You may even get back together with the person you broke up with.
