Halle Berry Car Accidents

Besides being known for her acting abilities and incomparable beauty, there’s another thing Halle Berry is famous for–car accidents. Between 1997 and 2007, there were three Halle Berry car accidents of note. In her most infamous collision, she admitted to having been involved in a hit and run.

The first of three Halle Berry car accidents took place in 1997. While some reports call this a hit and run, records show this was not the case. It appears to have been a straightforward collision and no charges were filed in relation to the incident.

Ironically, just a block away from this 1997 event, was the scene of the most well known Halle Berry car accident. According to reports, in 2000, Berry was driving her white Chevy Blazer and broadsided a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire. Witnesses who saw the car flee the scene did not realize who the driver of the Blazer was at the time of the collision.

The victim in this Halle Berry car accident, Heta Raythatha suffered a broken wrist and filed charges against the actress.

For her part, Berry suffered a concussion and cut her forehead requiring 20 stitches. The actress contends that she doesn’t remember any of the details of the accident and pled no contest in court. Her sentence for this accident was three years probation, 200 hours of community service, and a $13,500 fine. Although a civil lawsuit was filed, it was settled out of court.

The actress continued to drive without incident for several years until 2007. The Oscar winner accused the paparazzi of causing the final incident on the list of Halle Berry car crashes. Just two days after announcing she was pregnant, Berry crashed her car into a wall blaming a swarm of photographers for chasing her. Luckily there were no injuries, and Halle gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Nahla Ariela Aubrey the following year.
