Hanson: Where Are They Now?
If you were a fan of the music group Hanson, you may be wondering, "Hanson: where are they now?" The three brothers best known for the 1997 pop hit “MMMBop” are making music well passed their "MMMBop" days. Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson formed their band in 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and their first album, "Middle of Nowhere", received three Grammy nominations.
Since 2003, Hanson has released music under their independent record label, 3CG records. Their fifth studio album is titled Shout It Out and was released on June 8, 2010 and they are currently on tour. Hanson released the album "Stand Up, Stand Up" in 2009 and "The Walk" in 2007. They have toured every year since 2007. Hanson describes their music as a mix of R&B, pop rock, and a new take on classic rock.
Hanson has been increasingly active in philanthropic work. In 2006, they recorded the song “Great Divide” with a school choir in Soweto, South Africa. All proceeds from the song benefited AIDS research and prevention in Africa. They continued their work with AIDS research by partnering with TOMS shoes to sponsor a one-mile barefoot walk with fans before each concert. Hanson released a coffee table book in 2008 titled "Take the Walk". The book focuses on their work to raise awareness about poverty in Africa.
All three brothers now have families of their own. Isaac Hanson spotted his future wife, Nicole Dufresne, at a concert in 2003. They married in 2006 and have two children. Taylor Hanson met his wife, Natalie Bryant, at a performance in 2000. They married in 2002 and have four children. Zac Hanson married Kathryn Tucker in 2006 and they announced in July 2010 that they are expecting their second child.
