Spending between 20 minutes to half an hour every day, or at least thrice every week, on working out can lead to a plethora of healing benefits of exercise. It will keep you fit and strong and protect you from a variety of health disasters. Aerobic exercises, stretching and muscle training can help prevent diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, heart disease and other ailments. When you begin an exercise regimen after a long gap, make sure to start at a slower pace or with less strenuous moves, in order to train your body to adjust itself to the workout.

Hypertension and Diabetes

If you have hypertension or high blood pressure, regular exercising can help bring down the pressure. If you are suffering from non-insulin dependent diabetes, regular physical activity can help control your situation. Exercise lowers body fat, which in turn, helps control both hypertension and diabetes.

Stroke and Heart Disease

Regular physical activity can aid in prevention of stroke and heart disease. As exercise makes your heart muscle stronger, your blood pressure is lowered and your HDL (or high-density lipoprotein, also known as the good cholesterol) level gets raised. At the same time, LDL or low density lipoprotein (also known as the bad cholesterol) level gets lowered, which in turn enhances the flow of blood through the body, thus preventing heart disease.

Obesity and Osteoporosis

Obesity and other weight issues can be controlled by exercising regularly. Exercises aid in the building and preservation of muscle mass. This enhances the body’s capability of utilizing calories. It also lowers the total body fat. Daily exercises help in forming bones and can prevent loss of bone mass related to old age as well.
