Healthy Lunch Ideas For Work
If you are trying to be healthier, you should learn about healthy lunch ideas for work. The workplace can be a disaster for your diet. Many people like to leave the office for lunch, so they end up going out to eat instead of bringing a healthy lunch. But brining your own lunch can save you hundreds of calories, not to mention dollars.
- Almond butter and fruit sandwich. Almond butter is a healthier (and tastier) alternative to peanut butter. Almonds are rich in antioxidants like vitamin E. Almond butter also contains protein, so it will keep you going throughout the afternoon. Spread almond butter on whole wheat bread with fruit spread or a banana. If you don't want to use bread, you can use celery instead.
- Veggie wrap. A veggie wrap is an easy and healthy lunch idea for work. Start with a whole wheat tortilla and add as many vegetables as you want. Many people enjoy sprouts, shredded carrots, spinach, and/or tomatoes. You can also add some avocado slices. Instead of using a creamy, mayonnaise-based dressing, go for a hummus spread or a light dressing.
- Cereal. If you are a person who never has enough time in the morning to pack a healthy lunch, consider bringing a box of cereal and low fat milk. Cereal can be an easy and healthy lunch. Try choosing a cereal that has a high fiber and a low sugar content.
- Soup and crackers. Soup is a healthy lunch that you can bring to work. Soup is easy to transport in a can, or bring leftover soup or chili in a coffee thermos. Try a soup that is rich in vegetables and low in sodium. Try whole wheat crackers to compliment your soup.
