Hide Ads On MySpace 2.0
Are you wondering how to hide ads on MySpace 2.0? MySpace has made many changes to their website, hoping to entice all those users who may still be wondering what the whole social network is all about or to hopefully bring back those folks who may have jumped ship for the more popular Facebook or Twitter websites. The ads on MySpace might be a bit annoying—as any ad on any website might be—and for some users, they can be sure a deterrent when it comes to actively enjoying messaging their friends or playing the online games on the site.
Do note that hiding the ads on MySpace actively is against their terms of constent for their website; at one point in time, it had been much easier to hide these ads, but with the changing that have gone on with the site, this task is a bit harder and can not be done with your profile; meaning that, in days past, there were preferences to not see the ads or to move them. The new changes have made these obsolete.
So how do you hide ads on MySpace 2.0? You can still hide ads and it's quick easy.
- First, go to the main site of MySpace.
- Sign in to the site
- On your profile, look for the "My Stuff" link.
- Click My Stuff, which will drop down with a variety of different links to chose from. On the right hand is the "Edit Profile" option.
- Click Edit Profile
- Go to "Customize Profile". Here, you can change the background and other things. Within this, you can also do HTML to take control of your profile.
- Find the CSS portion of your profile.
- Within the CSS body portion, type "div#topnav, div#googlebar, div#header {display:none;}", without the quotations.
- Save your profile.
You should now no longer see the ads on your profile. Again, please remember that this does go against the terms and rules of MySpace and you may have your account disabled or canceled for doing so. Also, with the new MySpace design, you may be barred from actively getting into the underlining code and HTML to make such changes.
Knowing how to hide ads on MySpace 2.0 can be good practice for those just getting into HTML coding, as well as taking back your profile without having the constant ads assaulting you whenever you view your profile.
