Almost everyone knows of the famous Giorgio Armani, but do you know the history of Armani? This is a person who touched the fashion world and has taken it by storm with everything he does. He’s designed clothing, cologne, shoes, eyewear, makeup and everything else that has to do with fashion. We know what he does but who is he and where does he come from?
Giorgio Armani was born July 11, 1934, in Italy. His career began as an assistant designer in the house of Nino Cerruti. The aspiring designer soon left this position to pursue freelance work. He later originated a line of menswear with Sergio Galeotti in 1974. By 1975, Armani created a clothing line for women. In 2001 he was considered the hottest designer to come out of Italy. To cement his hold on fashion, Armani designed apparel for big name stars like Richard Gere for the movie "American Gigolo." This took him into international stardom as a fashion mogul.
The superstar isn't just into fashion; he is a person who tries to help the world. He is a member of humanitarian groups such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. As a Goodwill Ambassador, Armani helped promote the work of the group by raising money and bringing the suffering of others to public view.
Fashion, fast cars and riches beyond your wildest dreams are just a part of this ambitious man. Giorgio Armani had a dream and pursued it. He is into real estate, hotels, restaurants and much more. Armani has his place in history as a simple Italian boy growing up to be one of the world's most influential men.
