Homeworld 2 Ex Mods
For some reason, real-time-strategy games seem to receive some of the most exciting mods, but there are very few mods as comprehensive as Homeworld 2 Ex mods. The Ex mod is a compilation of multiple mods for the game allowing you to install them all with one easy install. This can be great for any player who hasn't downloaded any mods for the game yet but would like to experience some user-generated content, such as news races, ships and maps. The mod contains RC MADS's Fal Rozt class transport, which is a large transport ship, Greggy's mod which includes several new rail fighters, and FrankDark's Combat Cruiser from the Reblance mod which is a special ship exclusive to the Vaygr.
- Download the mod file. The "Homeworld 2" Ex mod can be found on many independent modding and even mainstream review sites, such as GameSpot.com. Like most mods, it is completely free to download and install, so you don't have to worry about shelling out any hard-earned cash for the mini-expansion pack.
- Install the downloaded file. The mod is currently over 20 megabytes, it is a compilation of mods after all, so it may take you a few minutes to download. After it gets finished, the file will be in a .EXE format. This allows you to simply double-click on the file to begin the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions until it asks for the file path to install the maps. If you installed "Homeworld 2" in the default file path, it should automatically recognize it. If you installed the game into a custom file path, you will have to manually locate the folder you installed it into.
- Activate the installed mods. You can now activate the mods once the installation process finishes. Once the installation as finished, a new .exe file will be placed in your "Homeworld 2" folder with the Ex Mod in the title. Double-click this .exe file to open the version of "Homeworld 2" that is modded with the Ex mod.
