Even the tidy among us can benefit from this house cleaning checklist. It can be a pain to keep track of everything that needs to be done, as well as when and where it needs to be done. There are checklists for daily, weekly and deep cleaning. If you follow a house cleaning checklist, your cleaning sessions will be less intense.
- Declutter the living room for fifteen minutes each day. Set a timer for fifteen minutes each day and remove everything that does not belong in the room. Sort through papers and decide what needs to be filed and recycle the rest. Go around the room with a box and collect everything that does not belong in the living room. Only declutter for fifteen minutes each day. If there is more to do, focus on that the next day.
- Sweep all of the floors at least once per day. To keep things easy, do all of the floors at the same time, in the evening. Start at one end of your apartment or house and work your way to the other end.
- Wipe down the bathrooms. An essential part of the daily house cleaning checklist is doing quick clean-up in the bathrooms. This is an area that can quickly get out of control. If you have messes in the bathroom, use a paper towel and cleaning solution to mop them up. If things look okay, use cleaning wipes to give a quick surface clean to toilets, sinks and counters. Of course, use different wipes for each section!
- Wash and put away all dishes. This should be done every day. Even if the rest of your home isn’t spotless, a tidy kitchen will help it seem much more clean. Every night after dinner, or before bed, wash and rinse dishes. Put them in the dishwasher and run it. If you don’t have a dishwasher, put the dishes in a drying rack. Once dry, put them away. Use a sponge and some dish soap to clean the actual sink as well. This makes it look shiny and new!
