When a person is beginning to learn how to skateboard, one of the first tricks that can be learned as a beginner is how to 50 50 on a skateboard.  Once someone riding a skateboard is able to ride the board smoothly, as well as perform an Ollie, then that person will be ready to learn how to 50 50 on a skateboard.  Let's talk about the steps that are necessary  in order to 50 50 on a skateboard.

  1. The first thing necessary when learning how to 50 50 on a skateboard, is to find a good place where a 50 50 can be executed.  There are two options when beginning to look for a place to do a 50 50.  The first option is to find a railing that is in a good place where it can be skated up to facing it and is low enough that an Ollie can get a skateboarder up on top of the railing.  The second option is using a curb to perform a 50 50.  Like using a railing, this needs to be a place where it can be skated up to facing it and it needs to be low enough that can Ollie can get the skateboard up on top of the curb.
  2. Now that the destination of the 50 50 has been selected, let's go ahead and get started with the trick.  First the skateboard needs to be ridden up to the curb or railing.  An Ollie needs to be performed and the trucks of the skateboard, both front and back trucks, need to land on the edge of the curb or completely on top of the railing.
  3. Once on top of the railing or curb, let the trucks of the skateboard grind on top of the surface and then push the back tail of the skateboard down and point the front of the board back toward the ground to end the trick.

With plenty of practice, a 50 50 on a skateboard is a trick that can be mastered in a reasonable amount of time.  There are also many variations of this trick that can be done.  Always remember to use proper safety when riding a skateboard and also, importantly, have fun!
