Learning how to activate a Sprint phone is simple. Whether or not you can get a good signal for calls afterwards is is a different dilemma entirely. Sprint has some of the coolest phones on the market. An activated Sprint phone is like having a computer in your pocket. Most activated Sprint phones have GPS and email. You can even surf the web relatively well with an activated Sprint phone. Yes sir, Sprint phones offer a hell of a lot of options for their respective users. We know you don't want a $400 paper weight so lets get it going. Here's how you activate a sprint phone.

  1. Take Your phone to a Sprint Store.  The easiest way to get your Sprint phone activated is to take it into a Sprint store. With the new 3G and 4G phones, the activation process can be sort of complicated. In short, it can be a real pain in the ass. If you take the phone into a Sprint store, you can bipass all that crap and let a sales representative do the dirty work for you.
  2. Setting up an account. If you decide to be a "do-it-yourselfer", then you'll have to go through all the crap yourself. The first step to activating your sprint phone will be opening an account to accompany the phone. Creating the account is simple enough. It just takes a long time. It'll ask you to fill in the necessary information like where you live, how they'll syphon your money from you monthly, the name of your first born child just in case you cant pay. You know, the usual stuff. Seriously though, this part of the process isn't too difficult it just takes a while.
  3. Activating the phone. Finally, here's how you get your phone up and running. There's a number of ways to go about getting it working. You can do it online through your Sprint account page. Just ask for an online chat session and the online rep can walk you through the complex process. You can also use another phone and call the Sprint techs to walk you through the process. To activate the phone, you need to have it at least semi charged. You'll need to give the rep your MEID number. The representative will then give you a special code to punch in to sync your phone to your account. The whole process will take about ten to fifteen minutes. You may have to wait for a few hours for all of your extra goodies to work on the phone but for the most part you should be able to use the phone.
