How To Ask Someone Out On A Date Properly
Asking someone out on a date properly can be the start of a wonderful relationship. First impressions can never be taken back. Put your best foot forward and make your request memorable and polite.
- Have a date in mind before you ask someone out. You don't necessarily have to have all of the details planned out, but women enjoy knowing that you have already thought about where you would take them and what you would do. It doesn't have to be an elaborate ordeal, but decide on dinner, a movie, an activity, or some combination of them all.
- Find an appropriate time. You want to have some time to ask her out on a date. It can't be rushed or half explained. This will make your first attempt confusing and you may not be able to recover from that type of situation. You don' t need an hour, but you do need to be able to ask her out, give her time to think about it and receive a response.
- In addition, find a time when she is alone. It can be awkward for everyone involved if you attempt to ask someone out while there are other people present. You may not get an honest answer and you may face some type of teasing by her friends. Also, getting her alone shows her that you are only interested in her personally.
- Give her some personal space. You want to have some time and you want her to be alone, but asking someone out on a date for the first time is not an invitation into someone's personal space. You want to be able to be close enough to look them in the eye, but you don't want to be in her face. Also, if you can tell she is having a hard time deciding, give her a chance to think it over. Don't pressure her for an answer or insist that she lets you know right away.
