How To Avoid Sports Car Crashes

Most sports car drivers need to learn how to avoid sports car crashes. When we get behind the wheel of a car with speed and power we think about the wind blowing through our hair and the rush of the acceleration. Avoiding a sports car crash is enforcing your basic driving knowledge.

  1. Be alert. Paying close attention to your surroundings is the main ingredient in avoiding a sports car crash. Avoid any distractions such as talking on your cell phone, looking at the scenery, and especially texting. In the day where multi-tasking is a must, it is not the time to multi-task while you are driving. You shouldn’t be eating, applying lip gloss, or checking your Blackberry.
  2. Obey the laws. Stay within the speed limit. Just because you are driving a sports car does not give you the right of way to speed or drive haphazardly. Watch for traffic signs and signals and be aware of what the vehicles around you are doing.
  3. Use your common sense. Just because your tires are rated to take a bend at 140 mph does not mean you should test them out. These ratings are made under the best conditions and you have no idea what will really happen if the roads are wet, if there is loose gravel, etc. The same goes for stopping capabilities. Just because it says it can stop on a dime doesn’t mean it can.

Be sure to remember that no matter how fast it goes or how tight it can handle a corner, it is still just a car. It doesn’t make you invincible. Avoid sports car crashes and let the car draw attention to itself instead of people staring because it is wrapped around a telephone pole.
