When learning the art of snowboarding, one of the first things you will learn is how to balance on a snowboard. This is crucial to learn and it takes a while to get use to finding your balance. It is not something that just happens instantly, take time to practice and it will come. Here are some tips to balance on a snowboard:

  1. Make sure you have the right size snowboard. It is important to have a snowboard that is fitted to your body's height and weight. If your snowboard isn't the right fit, you will have a difficult time balancing on a snowboard.
  2. Find your comfortable stance. Your stance is the position you are in when snowboarding, specifically, how far apart your feet are and how much your knees are bent. Stance is also how your hands are held out from your body. Your stance has to be comfortable to you because that is how you balance on a snowboard. You don't want your knees too far bent and your feet too far apart. You also don't want your hands too far away from your body. This will help you lose balance if not done correctly.
  3. Make sure to have control of your feet. Believe it or not, but your toes actually help you control the snowboard. By placing pressure in your toes, it causes the snowboard to turn, the same applies to your heels. So if your toes or heels are hanging off the snowboard you will never gain balance and control of the snowboard. All it takes is some practice and you will be able to balance on a snowboard in no time.
