What you will need to pull this trick off:

  • Freestyle snowboard
  • Snowboarding gear
  • Half pipe
  1. This trick will require you gain some air. Start at the top of one side of the half pipe. Angle down and snowboard to the other side. Before you cap the half pipe, lean back and turn towards the side you started.
  2. Maintain the angle if you like or you can straighten out your approach. This should give you enough air. Bend your knees slightly. As you approach the cap of the half pipe, turn so you are facing the half pipe and gain air.
  3. While you are in the air, bend your knees to bring the heel side up. You can grab or choose not to grab the heel side. Your snowboard should be just below your rear.
  4. Coming off the jump, release the board if you are grabbing, straightening your legs. Keep a slight bend at the knees to help absorb the landing. Stick the landing and complete your bam bend air.
