Looking for directions on how to barspin on a BMX bike? The barspin is considered to be a BMX street air trick. If you are familiar with the X-up BMX trick, then you will have no problem mastering the barspin. The cool thing about the barspin is that it can be done on flatland or in the air. It is much easier to do the barspin in the air, though, so the below directions will be for that method.

  1. Speed. The amount of speed that is required for the barspin is completely dependant upon the object that you are jumping off of. The larger the object is, the faster you will need to be moving. As with all BMX tricks, more speed equals a higher jump.
  2. Spinning The Handlebars. While learning to barspin on a BMX bike takes time, the trick itself is actually very easy. Once you go off of the ramp and are in the air, you will need to quickly flick your hands and wrists so that the handlebars spin around. To successfully complete a barspin on a BMX bike, the handlebars must do a complete 360 degree turn.
  3. Landing. As you begin to descend from the air, you will need to catch your handlebars as they spin back around. Landing the barspin is no different then landing any other BMX air trick. Make sure that your bike is level and that your back tire touches the ground before your front tire does. This will give you more stability as you land the barspin on a BMX bike.

Tips: When completing the barspin on a BMX bike, you do not want your legs to get hit by the handlebars as they are spinning. To prevent this from happening, you can either pinch your legs in towards your body, or spread them out so that they are clear of the handlebars.
