Want to learn how to be an amateur skateboarder? Maybe the thought of being a talented skateboarder isn't your thing and you would just like to be an amateur skateboarder who knows a few moves. Either way, you should still have a little skateboard style while being an amateur skateboarder. Play around with your skateboard. Make riding your skateboard more of just a fun, hang out, get some exercise sport. Don't take tricks that you learn to seriously. You don't want to become so good at skateboard tricks that you aren't considered an amateur skateboarder.

  1. Don't try to get overly talented with your skateboard. Play on your skateboard a lot, but don't worry about perfecting an ollie or getting other skateboard tricks just right to be an amateur skateboarder.
  2. You can be considered an amateur skateboarder and still skateboard really good. Just like there are very talented artist's out there who sing, draw, and paint, being a skateboarder is also something you can be talented at and hold amateur status at the same time. There is quite a line between being a very good amateur skateboarder and a professional skateboarder. Being an amateur skateboarder is a ton of fun. Sometimes you just don't want all the added pressure of being a professional skateboarder and you'd rather stay on an amateur skateboarder level.
  3. Learn cool tricks and still be an amateur skateboarder. This is the beauty of being an amateur skateboarder. It's possible to be just be just below the line of what a professional skateboarder can do with a skateboard, but still keep the amateur skateboard profile. Being an amateur skateboarder is about being extremely good with a skateboard, without going a step forward.
  4. Most importantly, just have fun with the hobby of skateboarding. That's the best way to stay an amateur skateboarder.
