How To Be Funny On A Date

Everyone wants to set the stage for a great relationship, and there's no better way than learning how to be funny on a date. Although humor is generally built in, you can learn a few ways to enhance your already dazzling personality. A good sense of humor is certain to make chicks flock right up to you and, if you can get them laughing, you can be assured you'll be their first choice in dates. Learning how to be funny on a date is easy if start by setting the stage for fun.

  1. Think back on funny things that have happened to you in the past and get good at telling the tales.  Perhaps you've done something particularly stupid that worked out badly – self-deprecating humor is almost always funny. Stockpile a few standard tales with which to regale your audience.
  2. Stock up on a few really really funny jokes. Write down two or three good stories or jokes that you've heard and memorize them. Practice the delivery of your anecdotes on friends and family first so that you can make sure you're funny. Joke telling is an art form; the delivery of a good joke is often funnier than the actual punch line. Steer clear though of jokes that are corny. Girls hate corny. Corny is synonymous with dork which is never good.
  3. If you really want to be funny on a date, add a few celebrity impressions to your repertoire. Everyone is impressed by a good imitator so figure out how to do the inflection in Chris Rock's voice. Pick funny celebrities, such as Jim Belushi or Chevy Chase to mimic. Do not overdo the impressions though. In this case, a little goes a long way. And, don't imitate Donald Duck; that's just not funny. While you're at it, study some of your favorite comics and adopt some catch phrases to your vocabulary. The more you have on hand (and on your mind), the more likely you are to be able to use them!
  4. Broaden your horizons by becoming familiar with pop culture and the news. You'll have a better chance of contributing a quick witty remark if you're familiar with topics that may come up in conversation. Work on your delivery of one liners – timing is everything in this case. If you come up with a funny comment ten minutes after the conversation has moved on, you're better off keeping it to yourself.
