Strikers are always on the offensive and therefore learning how to be a good striker in soccer will require a decent understanding of the game of soccer and where your position should be. Striker is one of the more fun positions in soccer and is a very important position on the team in soccer.

  1. Know your place. Remain on the offensive side of the field which is the side farthest from your team's goal. Remember that as a striker you are always to remain on the offensive and therefore you will never cross to the other side of the field.
  2. Localize yourself at the goal. Visually inspect the distance to the goal and what angles are available for a shot. Constantly position yourself in a good location, close to the goal. As a striker your job is to score goals for your team. Watch the other team's goalie and attempt to find any weakness or possibility for you to score a goal.
  3. Remain ready. Constantly make yourself ready and available to receive a pass. Strikers receive the ball from the players in the middle of the field in soccer and must always be ready. Open a line of communication with the additional strikers if you are not the only striker on your team.
  4. Practice the kicks. Remember to practice your penalty kicks in soccer. Strikers are often given the responsibility to make a penalty kick or free kick for their team therefore it is imperative that you practice. Being a good striker in soccer will require you to make the most out of the penalty kicks that are given to you.
